Introduction to Pastels

Class Description:
In this class we will learn about colour mixing including making and matching skin tones, and developing highlights and shadows in your work. Chalk pastels, as French Impressionist artist Edgar Degas shows us, can be a beautiful medium when layered to create realistic forms. Pastels are a very forgiving medium and are great for people who like to work faster and enjoy a very tactile process.

What is included:
All artist quality supplies are included. That means that you just show up!

Who is this class for:
Level 1
Focus: Learning the Basics
Adults only please. Level 1 classes are for students with little or no experience. You will learn the basic skills for use of tools and introduction to the medium.

What to bring:
We have some aprons, but wear clothes that can withstand the elements (i.e. glue, paint, etc.) of a fun, creative art studio.
