Print Stamp Paint Glue

Class Description:
In this class you will be encouraged to find interesting and engaging ways to mix your media. We will have projects ready to walk you through step-by-step, but if you want to be brave and venture off on your own path, high-five!

In this fun class, creativity and experimentation are key!

This class has 12 hours of instruction, plenty of time to create your own masterpiece!

Week 1 – Monoprints
Explore the possibilities of this simple but incredibly satisfying printing method using botanical and natural materials to create super natural prints. Some of these prints will be kept as stand-alone pieces of art, while others will used in upcoming classes. Imagine the possibilities!

Week 2 – Art Alchemy
Explore the different effects that watercolour paint, acrylic inks, marbling, salt, and detergents have on different paper surfaces to achieve fascinating abstract effects. We will be transforming our small scale masterpieces into surreal landscape collages.

Week 3 – Image Transfers
No drawing skills required. We will be exploring different methods of transferring images onto different surfaces and developing an individual series of work based on your own images. We will be discussing theme and repetition.

Week 4 – The Paint Part!
We will be painting without brushes and exploring palette and texture. Using our image transfer methods from week 3 to create surreal self-portraits.

Week 5 – Stamp making
We will be making our own custom stamps utilizing several different methods. We will then put these new stamps to use and incorporate pattern into old works.

Week 6 – Putting It All Together!
