Wild Driftwood Baskets with Amy Dugas

Class Description:
Use beach materials to create a one-of-a-kind, truly west coast basket! In this class you will be encouraged to explore the boundaries of the question ‘what is a basket?’. Using driftwood and beach rope, we will knot, tie, coax and interweave our baskets to life. All materials are provided. Be prepared to thread needles, tie knots and think outside the basket on in this class!

Check out some of Amy’s fantastic woodworking and basketry here: Amy’s work

*Please note: Your basket will likely look different from the photo! We will be using driftwood and the beauty of that is that each basket will have its own, unique look. It’s also important to remember that everyone works at a different pace, so it may not take all the allotted time, but we err on the side of not rushing.
