Playing around

So with this whole Art studio thing happening its been really fun to get back into art making… its always been a part of my life, but with two small chillens it has gotten pushed to the bottom of the priority list for the last 5 years or so. But MAN! Does it ever feel good to be back!

I’ve been doing some great little lessons and workshops to get into the groove – the picture above is a cool technique from Sandrine Pellisier (sandrinepellisier.com) that when you start, you really have no idea where its going to end up! I started on an old canvas, then dropped on liquid acylic. I then blew on the paint and tilted the canvas to move the paint around. THEN you take a paint pen or some charcoal and start tracing around interesting shapes. Once your satisfied with your new found shapes, you paint the background white. I then finished it off by using some paint pens to add pattern and design.

However I wasn’t so stoked on my finished product. It was ok, but a few of the floating leaves were bugging me, as was the stem, and I thought the flower needed more umpf (??)… so this was the process! Although it still doesn’t feel finished to me… maybe the stem should be lighter? Maybe this is a still a work in progress…

In progress…

Finished? Maybe…
