Acrylic Painting 2 – Value, Emphasis, and Tom Thomson – ONLINE

Acrylic Painting 2 – Value, Emphasis, and Tom Thomson – ONLINE

Class Description:
This class is delivered online with limited seats for a highly interactive experience with your instructor.

In this session you will learn about value and emphasis to take your paintings to the next level. We will use Tom Thomson’s work to guide our exercises, but we will also examine other artists throughout history.

Throughout our 5 classes we will do 4 different exercises together. One will focus on value, the next will focus on emphasis, and the third will focus on one of Tom Thomson’s works – his brushstroke, his palette and his subject matter.

During the last two classes you’ll gain the confidence to figure out the elements within your own painting such a breaking down the composition, figuring out values, deciding on the colour palette, and creating a specific mood.

Bonus: We record the online classes, so if you miss one we can send you the recording!

Note – Students that have taken this class with Jess before know that we do NEW projects every session, so you won’t get bored taking this class multiple times!

Online Format:
This class will be delivered using Zoom, which will need to be downloaded in advance (no additional fee for using). You can participate using your mobile, tablet or desktop. Upon registration, you will be emailed instructions on how to connect with the classroom.

*Please note – Our goal is to create a highly interactive classroom environment and be able to give personal feedback to each participant. Therefore we ask that only one person attend a class per registration.
